Just watched this one. It's the first from your list that I thought was filmed and edited, let's say the best of them all. The acting seemed scaled up quite a bit compared to the others. There were all the 80s trappings (fashion, plot points, score) but taking that in stride I think the movie could be watched and enjoyed, not just torn apart. And here's my futile attempt to defend Quaid's psychic abilities: Dovotney (Van Sydow) did say how he had left a somewhat similar trial a decade before... perhaps he only fostered the abilities he had for making money and scoring the chicks? And think of all the palmists, crystal gazers and fortune tellers... they're "precognates" yet we call them pyschic. I agree with the plotholes but reading the future, if not a beginning skill of the psychic, is a skill we've attributed to them in our society/culture.

Here's an offside question: am I the only one who thought James Woods starred in this? I swear I have childhood memories of Woods fighting the snakeman and killing a guy in his sleep.

@Brian

Actually, Ice Pirates should be on Netflix streaming. I watched it in December on my Xbox 360, so unless they removed it you should be able to find it. Ridiculous movie, btw.

I don't think it is good enough to make the FilmSack checklist but I feel George Wendt's blatantly-getting-shot-in-public-and-having-two-dudes-drag-you-away-while-abolutely-no-one-notices death is a common happening in crappy movies.

@Captain Kickstand

Thanks for the corrections. We try to get it right. But sometimes even we are wrong.

Hopefully, The Ice Pirates will come to Netflix streaming soon so we can give the people what they want.

I really enjoy the show. I haven't seen Dreamscape, but I did notice that you got a couple of details wrong about Christopher Plummer. First, he's not dead. Second, not to geek out or anything, but he didn't play the peace-loving lawyer Klingon in Star Trek: The Undiscovered Country, he played the old, battle-hungry general with the eyepatch bolted to his skull, the one who turns to have been working all along to undermine the peace process and in the end attacks the Enterprise while quoting Shakespeare. It was a great performance, though.

I second the vote for Ice Pirates. Is that on Netflix streaming?

@Kenny
Believe it or not, there is a DvD of this.
What's harder to believe is that I have the DvD...thus I can capture a video clip if you want, just shoot me an email and I can send you the clip:
fantum0@yahoo.com

And if anyone else wants to see the clip, or just boobie shots in general, feel free to let me know.

Also, sorry for the triple post, I'm not normally so chatty, but this is a boobie emergency.
