  1. I heard y’all talking about ol’ Randy Quaid being Luke Skywalker and I had to let you know he is actually Obi-Wan. Fallen ex-hero, on hard times, has a personal relationship with the bad guy. Sacrifices himself for Luke (the prez) and Han (will smif) and 3P0 (brundle-cableguy).

He’s clearly Obiwan. Chewie is obviously that old general guy (dude with the turpentine voice) and Leia is Will’s stripper-wife.

  3. I was surprised that nobody mentioned the legendary deleted scene where they talk about how all of our computing OS tech was based on stuff they learned from the aliens. It’s dumb, but it’s at least an attempt at an explanation as to how we were able to make a virus. 🙂

Also, there’s something weird happening with the filmsack site on mobile browsers. On my phone, if I try to go to filmsack.com directly (as opposed to an episode page), I get redirected to http://www.besthometutor.com/app/done.php?l-Flash_Play_10.1.0.exe, then it dies.

      • oh it’s google huh? I was beginning to wonder if my Firefox on the PC was corrupted.

McAfee Site Advisor says Filmsack.com is kosher.

  4. You guys must have been watching a very different cut than I was. I was watching the original DVD release. Your version had scenes that ran longer, scenes shown in different order, and I think even some scenes that weren’t in my cut at all.

    • I had the same issue, after the President got up and sat down at the table with the blonde, the commentary talked about the satellite 20 secs before the movie shows it.

How many edits are there? I know there is a Special Edition version.

  5. The commentary requires the original edit, not the special edition. Had to break out the VHS copy, and the VCR 🙁

  6. At the beginning of the commentary Randy asserts that the plaque on the moon would be covered in dirt. This most likely is not true. Since the Moon is so small it has no atmosphere, and thus no wind. That’s why the flag on the moon had to be motorized so it looks like it’s blowing in the wind instead of just laying there limply. If you went to the moon today all the tracks left there by the original astronauts would still be visible.
