  1. Speaking as a Canadian, Rosanna Arquette had the worst Québécois accent and the reason is, she was attempting to do a French accent from France, not Québec. Did she or the director not know the difference? It was brutal.

On the other hand, Amanda Peet was delightful and if you’ve never seen her adorable appearances on David Letterman, you need to check those out.

  2. When it comes to spinoffs that were hits and tonally different from the original show, there are two things that come to mind: Trapper John MD, a serious medical drama from the early ’80s about an older version of TJ from MASH, and The Jeffersons, which is based upon recurring characters from All in the Family.

  3. I don’t know the origin of the term “the whole nine yards”, but Brian may be close with the concrete idea. A typical concrete truck carries nine cubic yards of concrete. As I said, don’t know if that’s the source, but it would make sense.

  4. Can Jason Bateman do this roll? ( CRAP, once again, you guys made the same guess as me). One of the NPR’s ( cant remember the show) did one on Joey and they said that the ratings were good for anytime, but they weren’t “Friends” level.

One point. I was a huge Mel Gibson fan, but I find it hard enjoying him. maybe in a few years, but most likely not.

It is supposed that Michael Clark Duncan was a bouncer and Bruce Willis got him into acting.

I believe Little shop was billing Nicholson as first movie appearance.

  5. Jesus, Randy, can you be anymore contrarian and hipster-ish. Seems like anything anyone said, he had to top it or argue with it.
